RUNWAY
REFUGEE
"The Runway to Redemption Movement"
"Runway to Redemption’ is a feature documentary currently in production about the lives of four refugees turned runway models from the Kakuma Refugee camp.
It is a story that touches on various themes including early childhood marriage, women empowerment, refugee rights and human trafficking. Despite being raised as stateless refugees, each of these amazing women has through the platform of international modelling found their runway to redemption.
The story takes us from the despondency and struggle they faced as refugees [while showing the inner fortitude each of them innately possesses] and how they made their way to the bright lights of European catwalks where they are modelling for some of the biggest fashion designers in the world. It’s a tale of two worlds, and how they must navigate between them. Their story must be told. Their story will be told.
A proportion of the proceeds raised from sponsorship will be donated to the Kakuma Refugee camp.
